We currently have 18 shops on the Darling Downs with each shop providing the community with quality products including clothing, toys appliances, bric-a-brac and furniture at an affordable price. All proceeds go towards the continued support of Lifeline’s 24-hour crisis counselling, free face-to-face counselling services and support programs for children and families.
These shops are the financial cornerstone of Lifeline Darling Downs. They provide funding for two of our programs – Community Development and Toowoomba Based Financial Counselling. The rest of our programs are funded via state, federal and corporate sponsorship. This allows the continuation of our vital counselling service in South West Queensland. People wishing to work in our retail positions need to be well presented, pleasant and able to present a positive image of Lifeline Darling Downs to our customers.
All retail staff will receive training in Lifeline Darling Downs operations. If you are interested in finding out more, please download the information booklet and application form here, complete the volunteer form below, or call the Lifeline administration office on 1300 991 443, between 9am and 3pm weekdays.
Distribution Centre Volunteers
The Lifeline Distribution Centre is where all donated items are collected, sorted, priced, packed and stored. We need many different kinds of volunteers in our warehouse including sorters, selectors, truck drivers and general warehouse assistants. Positions in the warehouse may require lifting and/or carrying so applicants would need to be physically fit. All warehouse staff will receive training in Lifeline Darling Downs operations.
